Vision FAQ'sQ. Is the vision program insurance?A. No! The vision program is NOT insurance. It is a reduced fee for service program that provides discounts at certain providers. Q. Does the vision program cover my family? A. Yes! The vision program covers all family members within your household. Q. What vision services are included? A. The vision program provides you and your family with savings of 20% to 60% on frames, lenses and contact lenses. Members also have access to a network of ophthalmologists and laser centers (MDs) across the United States providing 10% to 30% discounts on medical eye exams and surgical procedures, such as, PRK and LASIK. No. This is a comprehensive program covering most dental services, including dentures, occlusion (bite) analysis, bridges, x-rays, braces, amalgam fillings, crowns, missing or broken tooth replacement, oral surgery and more. Q. Can I use my own dentist? A. Yes! If your dentist is not listed as a participating provider they can become a participating member of the network. Ask your dentist to contact the dental network at the toll-free number on the front of your card to inquire about becoming a participating provider. Your dentist can receive additional business, just by becoming a provider! Q. I already have dental insurance. Can the dental portion of this membership be combined with my insurance? A. Yes, in many cases, it can provided the insured pays the entire bill at the time services are rendered and files the claim him/herself! As long as you go to a participating dentist in the network, you may use your membership to cover out of pocket expenses because the discount is given at the time the service is rendered. Q. How much can I save on my prescription drugs? A. Prescription savings can be 10% to 40% on most prescription generics drugs through the pharmacy network! The discounts vary per medication and are good for both new prescriptions and refills. Q. Will I receive a discount on all my prescription needs? A. The pharmacy program provides savings on approximately 82% of all prescriptions purchased through the program. However, if a participating pharmacy is offering a special on any prescription, the pharmacy shall offer you the sale price or the special contracted price, whichever is lower. This way you are assured of always receiving the lowest price possible on all your prescriptions. For the most savings on maintenance medications, consider converting from a 30-day to a 90-day supply and ordering through the mail order pharmacy program. Q. When should I use the mail order pharmacy program? A. The mail order service is typically your best option for medications that will be taken on a regular or long-term basis (maintenance medications). Some of the conditions often treated with maintenance medications are diabetes, arthritis, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and heart conditions. Q. Are there any prescriptions that cannot be ordered through the mail order pharmacy? A. Yes! Class II Narcotics are not available through the mail order pharmacy.
